Tour Plan

A Motorcycle Expeditions representative will meet and greet you at Munich International Airport. From here, you’ll be transferred to your
hotel in Erding for an overnight stay.

We follow the back roads through the Bavarian countryside and traverse Germany’s most important hops-growing area, the Hallertau, before crossing the Danube. Beyond the “Fränkische Alb” we reach the “Romantic Road” showcasing the best of medieval Germany. Dinner and overnight stay at a hotel.

Our motorcycle journey immerses us deep into German historic folklore as we ride through the heart of the wild Hohenlohe and follow the curves of the river Jagst on the trail of the imperial knight and poet, Götz von Berlichingen. We ride on to explore the legendary forests of Odenwald, glimpse the Neckar valley and visit Hirschhorn castle before we return to the cover of ancient forests. Dinner and overnight stay at a hotel.

Prepare to be mind-blown by the beauty of infamous Black Forest and the Rhine Valley as we ride on through Albtal valley and Bad Herrenalb, into France. After coffee at Bad Herrenalb, a town which originated as a monastery, we’ll cross the Murgtal valley and open our throttles on the Black Forest High Road from Baden Baden, until a well-earned Black Forest Cake pause at Mummelsee. Some more Black Forest scenery will take us to Ribeauvillé. Dinner and overnight stay at a hotel.

On the menu today are thrilling twisties through breathtaking scenery before a visit to the Haute Koenigsbourg, an impressive medieval stronghold. Ribeauvillé is happily situated on the Alsace ‘Route des Vins’, so a wine tasting in one of Ribeauvillé’s wine cellars after the ride, comes highly recommended. Dinner and overnight stay at a hotel.

Three countries in one day and heaven for twisty enthusiasts who love verdant and splendorous landscapes. From France, we’ll ride over the Maginot Line to the river Rhine at the German/French border where we will enjoy some more famous black forest cake in Hexenlochmühle, a mystic witch place that sells cuckoo clocks too, all in keeping with the folklore of course. A short ride takes us to Switzerland. Dinner and overnight stay at a hotel.

The road leads us on a deeper exploration of the Swiss mountains. Lunch will be served at the end of some invigorating, narrow twisties in Schwägalp, followed by an optional cable car ride to the summit of Säntis. After lunch, we’ll descend into the Rhine valley and reach Austria at Feldkirch via Lichtenstein. We make our way up to Warth over the breathtaking Furkajoch and Hochtannberg passes. Dinner and overnight stay at a hotel.

Today we choose one of two castles to visit. Both belonged to King Ludwig II, the Last King of Bavaria. Linderhof, sporting an exquisite interior, is smaller and less often photographed than Neuschwanstein although Ludwig spent most of his time here. Next, we head across the rolling hills of the beautiful Bavarian countryside to Erding. Dinner and overnight stay at a hotel.

Alas, as with all great things, this journey has come to an end. We hope that you were suitably stunned by the absolute beauty of Europe and that had a fantastic journey. You’ll be transported to Munich International Airport for your flight home.
